Standardisation for fuel-cell vehicles and hydrogen infrastructure
Uniform and binding standards are an essential prerequisite for the commercialisation of fuel-cell vehicles. In particular filling stations must be equally suitable for all types of vehicle. Besides safety, it is also important to ensure fast and complete refuelling so that the customer can travel the desired distance.
Based on our years of experience of storage and refuelling with hydrogen, our expertise is highly prized when it comes to standardisation. Usually we work in the background for major concerns but we are sometimes also directly represented on the relevant committees.
Examples of our activities are:
- SAE J2601: Simulation of the refuelling with hydrogen
- CSA HGV 4.3: Member of the working group
- SAE J2719: Evaluation of the concentration limits of various impurities, e.g. water or particles
- SAE J2799: Support with the implementation of the standard for infrared communication between fuel-cell vehicles and the filling station
